Announcer
On a related note, does anyone know the name of the character who says "The first transport is away!" in Echo Base? - Kwenn
- Echo Base com officer guy? I dunno, maybe you could check the Empire script for that. --BaldFett 13:55, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
- It's probably just an unnamed officer. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 17:04, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
Nebulax is right. in the script, he is reffered to as the Anouncer. Here is the script:http://www.scenebyscene.net/v/tesbscript.txt Hominid 20:21, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

- The announcer is Romas Navander. It's confirmed in 'Who is who in the Echo Base'. --Sompeetalay 14:01, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Known ships.
As for the known ships, I remember three of these transports being named in the Inside the Worlds of the Original Trilogy on the Echo Base page. Can I get a little help with those names? Cmdr. J. Nebulax 21:14, 18 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- There you go. - Kwenn
- Thanks. But I remember seeing four transports. Did the fourth one have a name? Admiral J. Nebulax 20:29, 4 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Nope. The label mentions 30 transports at Hoth (17 of which are destroyed by Death Squadron) - Kwenn
- Oh. Thank you. Admiral J. Nebulax 20:33, 4 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Also according the Star Wars Technical Journal, another transport at Hoth was called Bearing Lifter.--IvotedforKodos 16:19, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Kamikaze Ship?
I remember from some time ago that these ships at the battle of Endor were used as possible "bomb ships". Loaded with explosives they would ram other ships to damage and destroy them. Does anyone know whether this was actually true? --BaldFett 18:26, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- I doubt it. I don't think the Alliance would waste them. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 20:34, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- They apparently did so in the Battle of Fondor, and they have used more expensive ships for the same purpose. And many Rebels didn't like the Gallofree transports much. The Rebel Alliance Sourcebook says "Rebel spacers insist that the Empire was fully aware the Alliance was buying the transports, but they let them purchase them anyway because they thought the ships would cause the Alliance more grief than good." (RASB 2ndEd. p136). So I figure that if the ships were more useful as huge torpedoes than as transports (as they would be in a major fleet engagement like Endor) then the Rebels wouldn't hesitate to convert them. —Darth Culator (talk) 21:10, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- Well, that proves me wrong. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 21:13, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- Meh, don't stress over it. The only person who is always right about Star Wars is George Lucas, and people even question him on a regular basis. The Rebels were desperate and a little bit crazy. (And I happened to research this particular issue a while back when I was playing around with modifying X-wing Alliance and I wanted to justify putting guns on the Medium Transport.) —Darth Culator (talk) 21:45, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- I don't stress over it. No one, except George Lucas, could know everything about Star Wars anyway. I hope everyone knows this. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 21:51, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

- From what I remember, they did use some as "fire ships" (I think that's a similar purpose to kamikaze ships) in the ROTJ novelization. VT-16 14:53, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- Speeking of which, "fire ship" currently redirects to the craft from RotS. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 20:22, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

Transport from Shadows of the Empire
Think maybe that the transport ship seen in the first comic of the Shadows of the Empire series should be mentioned? It was the one in the opening pages that had an ion cannon afixed to it. --IvotedforKodos 16:12, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
- Could you provide a picture? Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 21:05, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
**On that note, one showed up in ANH:SE at the very beginning at Mos Eisley. It's right behind the little hovering droid right before the larger droid hits it to the ground. Seems like it should get a mention too. I'd do it, but better some more veteran user does it. --76.199.4.41 01:33, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- Oops, that's the 45, nevermind. --76.199.4.41 01:34, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
I didn't have a scanner so I had to take one and upload it. Its not the best but you can make out what I am talking about.

I ask this cause I Swear I saw one in Episode II.
- Can you provide a screenshot? —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 21:51, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- You may be thinking of the Gozanti Cruiser or the Taylander shuttle, both seen in Mos Espa - \\Captain Kwenn// — Ahoy! 21:54, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure they're the only things that resemble a GR-75 in Episode II. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 21:55, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

No You can see it fly past the Jedi Temple before they Discuss Padme going to naboo I will try to Provide a Screenshot.
- Something the size of a GR-75 fly past the Jedi Temple? I doubt it. It's probably an airspeeder. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 21:24, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
It Can't be its Bigger than most of the Transports Flying Past. # 24.215.171.40

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/File:GR-75.JPG I think he means this.Mandaloe 17:58, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
- Well, that's not, according to the anon, "bigger than most of the transports flying past". —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 18:48, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
So Can we Identify it as a GR-75 or not? would it need a more Close up image?24.215.171.40 04:37, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
- It's not a GR-75. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 12:16, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
- Well there's quite a few objects flying by that do look suspiciously like the GR-75 so I can see what you're getting at. But then again the scale looks way off Lalala la 00:36, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Fanon?
- What's the origin of this: The GR-75's early designs originated from engineers Fegg Hayes and Ret Bistuth, who set up a series of factories on Beheboth in the Beheboth system prior to the decline of minerals on that system. I dunno but it just smells like fanon. --Sompeetalay 14:01, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Look to the Starboard and Port sides of the craft, near where the modular cargo pods are held. Does anyone else find it odd that the hull is broken there, and then there's a brief segment of the hull over the underside of the cargo pods?
It may not be a canon assumption, however is it possible that these portions might tilt upwards and lift outwards to make cargo unloading easier? What other role might they play, perhaps to secure cargo?
