Merging Senate District and Federal District

Usually I would simply go ahead and merge the article Senate District into Federal District and be done with it. However I recognize that these are not some obscure articles whose sudden move might raise questions. I'm listing below the reasons for the merger so that others have a chance to see it. As I am not a parliamentarian by nature, an administrator can clarify if any serious objections warrant a vote to rescind the merger in the proper forum. The reasons are as follows:

  • Official canon begins in April 2014. The online Databank makes no mention of the "Federal District" that I have found, only "Senate District." I would note that most of the entries are written around this time and so the following canon material had no influence as "Federal District" was term never before used in source material.
  • Tarkin is published in November 2014. It is the first mention of the "Federal District" and lists the Imperial Palace/Jedi Temple as being located therein as well as the COMPNOR arcology and Naval Intelligence headquarters forming a "supreme triangle".
  • Tarkin mentions "Senate District" in chapter 6 as a Republic Senator Palpatine talks with Tarkin. It is the only source I have found so far that mentions both "Senate District" and "Federal District."
  • In Ultimate Star Wars (published April 2015) the "Senate District" as the local for the Senate Building (page 166), the Senate Office Building (page 166, 173), Padmé's Apartment (page 166, 173), and 500 Republica (page 169)
  • Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel makes mention only of the "Senate District" in a general term (chapter 3) the context being the Republic era
  • The most convincing arguments can be found in Star Wars: Complete Locations (September 2016) which, besides Thrawn is the most recent material to cover this.
    • Page 41, the Senate Building is specifically mentioned as being in the heart of the "Federal District"
    • Pages 42, 43 are headlined as "Federal District" and contain descriptions of the Federal District being the main government center which along with the Senate Building also is the location of 500 Republica (placed as being in the Senate District in Ultimate Star Wars) and the Jedi Temple
  • Thrawn (published April 2017) states twice that the Senate Building is in the "Federal District" (chapters 2 and 14) but makes no mention of "Senate District"
  • The Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy (the last novel being published in February 2017) mentions only "Federal District" and there is no mention of "Senate District" as it relates to Coruscant

Based on context in the novels, "Senate District" is used during the Republic era while "Federal District" (used under both Republic and Empire based on reference material) gains usage mostly under the Empire. Either way I believe this to be enough material to justify merging the two articles and per the naming policy use "Federal District" as the primary article.
