Should this article be expanded into dealing with the more popular types and themes of fanfic that flourish in the SW-fanfic communities? KEJ 10:41, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
I think that it should be expanded to inclued some of the various types of FanFic, the genre and other aspects. Maybe some examples of intresting or award winning SW-FanFic--Kyrias 06:06, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

Is it possible to include something about fan reactions/attitudes towards the different types of fanfic themes and genres? KEJ 20:10, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- I stayed away from that for feat of NPOV. But I think I'll add something under slash... Or maybe a fanfic contoversy subhead? -- Dark Spork 03:06, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
New section for 'ships?
I've noticed that an increasing number of the terms in the "Fanfiction terms" section are defining different 'ships. Should those be moved into a seperate catagory? Vongchild 01:43, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
examples fanon->canon
Are there any examples of fanon becoming canon in the Star Wars universe? A list of them would make a nice adding to the article. -Tinwe 10:18, 11 Oct 2005 (UTC)
My article on Arkanna is classified as fanon. I found the info on a Star Wars Galaxy Map.-The Master Destroyer 9:06, 1 May 2007
Canonical status for images
Which images are canon - what condition should shuch images keep? any checklist for novice (like me...)? What makes images canonical? Can images made-up from description of ship be considerd as cannonical until publication of other sources? SkywalkerPL 18:49, 14 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Images are canon when they are downloaded from an official website, captured from a canonical DVD or video, scanned from a licensed publication, or captured from an licensed and unmodified computer or video game. Unofficial images extrapolated from one or more canon images or based on a textual description of a subject are not canonical, and generally shouldn't be used in place of a canon image. —Darth Culator (talk) 19:09, 14 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- OK, but what if there is no cannon image - and it would be written that it is no cannon image - could it be in that way? And one thing more - What about fan-made images? As far as I see in yours description what is fanon image - some pictures in SSW are fan-made (like [Thrawn.JPG]) and they are in more important articles - conclusion: fan made images have place in SSW and that is not a problem. SkywalkerPL 19:30, 14 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Thrawn.JPG is official. It's Joe Corroney artwork done for Insider. Tam 20:38, 14 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- OK, wrong example, but what about [Yt1930rs.jpg] - no sources, 100% that it is fan-made picture, and it is in plh section of YT-1930 description.
- You're right, that shouldn't have been there. Now it's gone. —Darth Culator (talk) 17:03, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- But what with my suggestion, that it would be written that it is no cannon image - and if anybody would have canon image it would be indicated to upload such image? And one other think: there are many pictures with no sources - what with them? I think that it is illegal to use such pictures unless it is written who is author (and author allowed to put picture), or page author has made it himself (it is like that in polish law as far as I know). NPOV..."looked down upon"?
Sorry to raise this, but it seems to me that this comes very close to suggesting all fanfic is crap. I know the point you're trying to make is that fanfic belongs in its proper place, but is this really a tactful--neutral--way to explain that point? Teris Shae 19:41, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- You don't want to see the tactless way to explain that point. Gonk (Gonk!) 21:58, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
- I see what you mean, half of my self-built lego character's backgrounds (yes, I'm a kid,10 years old and still young!) are, according to this article, not of any significance whatsoever. When I saw the "Mary Sue" part, I'm like, "you're joking, right?" That needs to be re-worded, seriously. josh, the usernameless wookieepedian
When FanFic "becomes" Fanon?
I'm confused by how the article states that "[individual fanon] becomes fanon when a user attempts to pass it off as canon". Isn't it already fanon? Isn't all fanfic fanon without the requirement that there must first be an attempt to pass it off as canon? // fodigg
