Imperial Department of Military Research

Not owning the book in which the short story is in, I was wondering whether Everi Chalis became the head of the IMP Dept. Of Mil. Research AND KEPT her position, and was not replaced by Tarkin or some other event by the end. I was also wondering the same about the "armour-production chain" and it being put under the oversight of the Dept. of Mil. Research, and not being changed by the end of the book. Any response would be appreciated. Thanks. - Comm. Boots (talk) 23:50, November 4, 2015 (UTC)

  • If I remember correctly, Chalis' promotion was at the end of the story, and it didn't give any details about her continuing prior responsibilities (the quote that's in use is the only mention of it). As far as the armor-production chain goes, the original leader was killed, and it was placed under Chalis' command by Vidian. It can be assumed that Vidian's choice of Chalis would implement changes. Homeworld

I just finished TC, and it seemed pretty clear throughout that Chalis was not from Coruscant. There's repeated instances where Namir recognizes her accent as being similar to his own 'provincial' accent, and later on, Seiteron sneers (internally) at her 'put on' Core accent. Unless someone can point to the passage where this is definitively stated, I'm pretty sure the statement (as well as the reference referring to the book) are incorrect. I'd have modified this already, but I wanted to wait and see if someone could point out said reference first. — DigiFluid(Whine here) 04:17, November 6, 2015 (UTC)

  • You're correct. I wrongly added the information based on an excerpt where she spoke with a Coruscanti accent. Cwedin(talk) 04:22, November 6, 2015 (UTC)
