Picture

Can anyone get a better picture?--PyRo 14:03, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Neither. It's a Hyperspace image, with the logo removed. Therefore, we can't use it. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 19:02, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Can't look at the pic, those AOL morons shut Hometown down.Read the list of comments there though, some of the guys were really POed. josh, the usernameless wookieepedian
  • The Picture is of a toy Shadow Guard not a "real" one therefore shouldn't be used on this artical Dark Lord Xander (Embrace The Dark Side!)Neo-Crusader emblem 01:55, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
    • That is the only Shadow Guard image we can use as of now. When a Shadow Guard image that we can use is uploaded, then the action figure image will be removed. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 02:00, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
      • I don't understand why we can't use a cropped version of the Shadow Guard picture from the Star Wars site. I know they have a cropped version of the McQuarrie concept original Millenium Falcon picture in the Consular-class space cruiser article. The Hyperspace logo has just been cropped out. I don't see the difference here. I know it'd look a lot better than the pic we have now. — Sadriel Fett 07:12, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Link to the other Guards?

Interesting. With the Royal Guard being all red and the next higher step, the Sovereign Protector, being a blend of red and black ... could the all-black Shadow Guard possibly be the final level of career? Tulon 02:00, 28 May 2007

  • Possibly, but that's just speculation. If we can find a source for the canonicity of that statement, then yeah, we can put it into the article, but not right now.-Darthtyler
  • I don't think so. Sovereign Protectors were the Emperor's best-trained guards. I can't see there being a level higher than that. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 14:15, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
    • There is a statement, I believe it is in the Dark Empire Sourcebook (West End Games), that it is possible that there could be an even higher level of guards above the Sovereign Protectors. -OotS_Freedon.
  • I doubt it, it says on the Sovereign Protector article that the Protectors were the most elite and well trained cadre of Imperial Guardsmen. josh, the usernameless wookiepedian
  • Actually, the Sovereign Protector's armor is not said to be red& black, the picture of red& black suit is really Carnor Jax. Yes, I know he was appointed a Sovereign Protector, but the armor he is wearing is Ved Kennede's (Spell-check?) Master Instructor armor, another thing usurped by Carnor Jax. BTW, this is josh the NOW USERNAMED Wookieepedian- User:Jangofett.avenger!!!
  • I don't know. Palpatine simply sets higher and higher goals to push his subjects to the limit. And the Shadow Guard is listed in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia as a special operations unit in the Royal Guard.

re-wording?

'completely mute' implies that they were rendered unable to speak through some such means -shouldn't the wording be more along the lines of 'never spoke' or 'totally silent'? Being ordered not to speak is a bit different than not having the ability at all.Tocneppil 18:50, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Actually in the Graphic Novel and/or Art/Making Of book, cant remember which, it says that they are so mentally broken that they can only preform necessary life functions and executing the Emperor's will. Galen Marek Starkiller Eclipse smooch (Personal Comm) 17:30, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

It also says so in the "Torture" article, talking about how the possibility of the Shadow Guard being Jedi that have been captured, tortured, and brainwashed, their minds so broken they can't even speak. josh, the usernameless wookieepedian.

If you read the last paragraph in the characteristics section, you will see that I have made it easier to understand. -ZJH Never mind, someone changed it. -ZJH

History

It says the only documented encounters were on Cloud City and Death Star I, but Galen Marek fought one on Kashyyyk just before he entered the wookie prison area. -Adam9389 15:49, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

Force Ability In Relation to Origins

In the Characteristics Section, it says that the Shadow Guard were rumored have been former Jedi that were captured, tortured and brainwashed by Palpatine, but then later on it says they do not possess the Force Power of a trained Jedi or Sith Lord (where's the source for that, btw). Does this later statement disprove the rumors, or does it simply mean they were captured Jedi with incomplete training (like a Youngling or Padawan)? If so, it may be a good idea to state that. [[:File:Kevmaswikisignature.gif]] 19:25, July 2, 2010 (UTC)

I went ahead and removed the tidbit saying that they do not possess the Force Power of a trained Jedi or Sith Lord, as, like I said, it has no source. [[File:Kevmaswikisignature.gif]] 08:40, November 17, 2010 (UTC)

1 BBY - Source?

Where's the source for them appearing in 1 BBY? I think that someone perhaps mistook the Saber Guard for a Shadow Guard, and added in faulty information referring to the Saber Guards in that battle as Shadow Guards. [[:File:Kevmaswikisignature.gif]] 05:13, May 7, 2011 (UTC)
