Clone Wars

I believe I saw this character Durge killed by Obi-Wan Kenobi in an episode in which he "consumes" Kenobi in his flesh and tentacles, and Kenobi destroys him from the inside, splattering his remnants everywhere. Then again he may have reformed as I didn't catch it all. Or is this what the article refers to already? Confirm on this, as I haven't be watching the animated series too much. -- Riffsyphon1024 07:30, 9 May 2005 (UTC)

  • Confirmed. He's gone, for now.--Eion 07:31, 9 May 2005 (UTC)
  • Doesn't the comic show little bits of his remains moving after he is destroyed (allowing his Gen'Dai physiology to realign)? --SparqMan 13:55, 9 May 2005 (UTC)
  • It does show some movement which seemed to imply that he would come back. I was surprised that he wasn't seen again in Clone Wars. I think that the article conveys this well enough as is. He was defeated, and it was (probably intentionally) left unclear whether or not he had actually died. – Aidje talk 14:13, 9 May 2005 (UTC)
    • Doesn't this guy ever die? -- Riffsyphon1024 14:13, 9 May 2005 (UTC)
    • Originally the 20th chapter of Clone Wars was going to show Durge reforming, but then they got the call from Lucas to show off Grievous, instead. Tam 20:15, 21 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Durge survives Muunilist. He is finally killed by Anakin during the Obsession comic series from Dark Horse. QuentinGeorge 21:02, 9 May 2005 (UTC)

  • Or is he? I haven't finished reading Obsession. Maybe Durge is going to become the Magneto of Star Wars?--Eion 21:20, 9 May 2005 (UTC)
  • Is there a source for this: "Originally the 20th chapter of Clone Wars was going to show Durge reforming, but then they got the call from Lucas to show off Grievous, instead"? --Imperialles 15:51, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
    • Yes, there is. Tartakovsky's audio commentary on the Clone Wars: Volume I DVD. -Borsk Fey'lya 16:15, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Vehicles

does durge have any vehicles of his own? Unsigned comment by 82.35.168.60 (talk • contribs)

  • Other than his jet-pack and modified swoop bike, we haven't seen anything in the way of starfighters or flagships for Durge - though it's likely that he does own some form of starfighter, as do other major CIS players (Grievous, Ventress, Skorr...) - Kwenn
    • This is probably a really old comment, but Durge did own an unnamed vessel. This article probably could be updated to include that information, as well as the fact that he owns a pilot droid. Had to go through the Obsession article to find them. -GroudonMan 23:42, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Durge=Sith?

Why is Durge in the Sith characters catagorey? He never claimed to be a sith and he's not force-sensitive.- User:Remoh

Revamp

Y'know for such an important character this page is pretty threadbare and disjointed. Being the Durge-fan that I am, I'm going to give it a bit of a revamp (hence the inuse tag). Tam 15:40, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

  • It looks pretty good to me so far. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 16:58, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
    • I guess you're right—it needs to be expanded. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 16:58, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

        • Some work still needs to be done, but I suppose I could do it. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 19:49, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
          • Yeah, a lot of the early stuff is missing, along with stuff about Operation Durge's Lance, purely because I don't have any of those sources. If there's anything I can do, tho, let me know. Thanks for cleaning up the article, btw. Tam 20:40, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
            • No problem. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 21:43, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

Labyrinth of Evil

Can anyone confirm that Durge is mentioned in Labyrinth of Evil? Tam 13:34, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

Regeneration ability

  • If it took Durge nearly a century to recover from being tortured by the Mandalorians, how does it only take less than two months for him to recover from being completely blown apart?--Darth Oblivion 02:07, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
  • Probaly the same way Ventress was reconstructed, well parts of her, or Dooku used some random Sith power, maybe the sameway Sion kept himself alive. RC-1187 13:45, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
  • Well, we've seen how Durge—or rather, his parts—regenerate. Is that any different from what other sources say? Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 17:48, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
  • As far as we know, getting blown apart is nothing for a Gen'Dai, but the Mandalorians used some other torture method that was harder to repair. Kuralyov 02:24, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
  • I also agree, but he wasn't alswys mad for the blood of Mandalorians... But how would they make something harder to repair than being blown apart. RC-1187 02:31, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
  • I guess its possible the Mandalorians had a way to interfere with the regenerative abilities of the Gen'dai. Its kind of like the myth with Hercules and the Hydra, where Hercules cauterized the stumps after cutting off the heads.--Darth Oblivion 00:14, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
    • That could be. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 00:19, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
      • When Obi-Wan blew him apart, he did it with kinetic force, so the tissues would have been severed, but not altered. if the Mandalorians had done something to alter the chemical construction of his body, say, burning him or something to that effect, it would probably take a lot longer to reconstruct and reassemble himself.Darth Ceratis 02:46, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Galaxies Character

Who's the funny guy who put his character as a continuity of Durge? Someone please do the honor of removing it. Unsigned comment by Battlemaster (talk • contribs)

  • No. It's to show how Durge's legacy survived. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 19:24, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
    • May I know where is the source for this? I am an SWG player and I just feel it is inappropriate for a Star Wars Galaxies player character to be placed in the stub. The armor is a mixed between chitin, composite and privateer helmet. These items do not share continuity with Durge in anyway at all.
      • Have you ever considered a) it could be an in-game character or b) the fact that someone took the name "Durge" could be a homage to the real Durge? And FYI, it doesn't matter what the armor looks like. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 22:19, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
      • Anon i belive its a npc not just a player controled chracter for one, and its in homage of the Durge like jack said so it has relevence, it doesn't matter what it looks like. Jedi Dude 22:24, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
      • Sorry I didn't put the signature in the posts above. Do give me the coordinates of the Durge NPC so that I may ascertain this fact. IMHO, Durge died and his legacy ends with it. And also as a seperate note, why doesn't the armor matter? If that is the case, could we have a random npc with bone armor created by some itchy-trigger finger dev? Battlemaster 14:47, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
          • well try to remember signing ur posts. its part of his article, because this bounty hunter had his name, maybe because of respect? so its part of his lecacy. it does not get its own article. i don't have the game so i wouldn't know, but im sure you havn't done the whole thing so its still possible becuase you havn't seen him he still is there? Jedi Dude 18:43, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
            • FYI, Battlemaster, one's legacy does not die with that person. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 19:22, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
              • Jedi Dude>>> I don't get what you are saying at all. Battlemaster 20:05, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
              • Jack Nebulax>>>I am big fan of Durge. His legacy ends in that no one has ever revived it according to official Star Wars continuity. Is that your SWG character? Battlemaster 20:05, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
                • Fan or not, Battlemaster, one's legacy can very well survive after death. And no, it can't be my character since a) that Durge is a NPC and b) I don't own Star Wars: Galaxies. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 20:08, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
    • Well if u red ur posts u askefd for the place to find the Durge NPC, i sed i dont have the game. its quite easy if you look what you wrote. Legacy doesn't need to be 'handed' down Jedi Dude 20:09, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
      • Jedi Dude, it would help if you used proper spelling and grammer. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 20:11, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
        • Just to clear things up, Durge in Galaxies is not a player-created character, but a pre-existing one within the game, thus making the guy, whoever he is, an official part of the game, and thus canon - Kwenn 20:15, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
      • Thanks guys for clarifying this for me, but not until I popped a vein in my brain from trying to decipher Jedi Dude's Vong words. According to sources, Durge the NPC relates to the Clone Relics quest. Battlemaster 15:08, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
        • Do you mean that link above? Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 20:11, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
          • Yes, he is a new NPC that relates to the Clone Relics quests of SWG's expansion pack. The Clone Relics quests give GCW era players to obtain quest rewards of the Clone Wars. Battlemaster 14:57, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
            • I understand that, I just wanted to let you know that you shouldn't take other wiki articles as sources because of the whole "anyone can edit them" thing. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 15:06, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
              • Yes. That SWG Wiki is terribly outdated, that Durge article is poorly written, and as we know such S-canon leaves alot to debate over. In fact, I will drive out in SWG and look for him and post coordinates to expand that section. I have no access to SWG at the moment or I would have made the necessary changes. Thanks. Battlemaster 17:37, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
          • In what part was I annoying? And who said I was arguing, just look at the tone of my messages. Whether they are canon or non, isn't it known that Wiki articles should have sources to back them up? When it comes to having accurate and sourced material, I am surprised this negativity is coming from you of all people. Here we have a Durge SWG character that no one expanded upon, with no coordinates whatsoever or about the relating interaction. This is not about Durge's legacy which we started talking about, this is about authentic verification that the little imposter does exist in the SW universe. It's just so happen that I used to be a fanatic SWG gamer, that is why I brought it up. Well, I am just getting my hands warm, Durge is just my first page. :) Battlemaster 20:02, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
            • You were kind of annoying when you were saying stuff like "Durge died and his legacy ends with it". As for the fake Durge, it was sourced, and we don't include player-created characters here. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 20:07, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
                • I hope you are not taking this statement as an insult towards Durge. I understand we SW fans have sentimental values over aspects of the saga. But what I meant by "legacy ends" is that there are no more canon sources (as of today) that speak of Durge's living embodiment after Anakin Skywalker killed him. It is clearly known that SWG brings many confusion and questions. Battlemaster 15:19, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

A question of accuracy...

In the section labeled "Durge's Legacy," at the end of the first paragraph, the following is stated: "A month after his death, Boba Fett used a holoshroud projector featuring an image of Durge during his infiltration of Mazariyan, a Separatist fortress on Xagobah. General Grievous was not fooled by the projection, however." My question simply is this: is it really supposed to be Boba Fett, or as believe it should be, Jengo Fett? --Darth Vox 21:53, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Full Gen'Dai mode?

What is this? I don't think Durge went into some more powerful "mode". This isn't DBZ. "Full Gen'Dai mode" sounds a bit odd too.--Lord OblivionSith holocronSith Emblem 19:58, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

is he really dead?

i was checking out theforce.net and star wars.com fourms and people were saying that he didnt die. but in this, it says that he does die? im gonna go with you guys, but is there a possibilty that durge does survive?

  • The guy got sent hurling into a star. I'd be interested to know just HOW anyone, even with Durge's regenerative abilities, could survive that. DGCatAniSiri 22:08, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
  • It's called audience interest, see the writers know that we like durge, and they want more customers, so they bring him back. (or Durge somehow manages to teleport out of the star, or fuses himself to the escape pod and imbues the pod with his regenerative abilities long enough to get himself back out of the star...anything is possible)--The Master Sith

Durge's death dilemma

You said that Skywalker killed Durge: "Again using the Force, the Jedi guided the pod into Maramere's star, defeating Durge once and for all." (Trap in the Karthakk system)

You also said that Grievous killed Durge: "he managed to behead Durge" (Duel with Grievous)

- inconsistency here - which one is cannon?

You also mentioned that "Durge and his Dark Jedi partner were given bacta treatment" right after Durge was beheaded. Thus Durge survived. How can he survive if he's been beheaded? Please a line with an explanation of this miracle. Saying that he survives "near-death situations due to his Gen'Dai heritage" is insufficient to explain how beheading is ineffective. --Poyntz 10:12, October 17, 2009 (UTC)

  • isn't it obvious idiot? Durge's regenerative abilities allow him to regenerate from pretty much anything. if he can come back from being completely blown apart by obi wan, he can come back from a simple beheading, got it you fucking shitass loser?--The Master Sith Unsigned comment by 69.236.86.223 (talk • contribs)
    • - read again. "...is insufficient to explain how beheading is ineffective". does not refer to Durge's regenerative abilities, it refers to the way the sentence is expressed in the paragraph--The Master Jedi Unsigned comment by Poyntz (talk • contribs)
      • Speculation around Gen'Dai physiology really does not belong on this talk page, nor does it belong in the article. --Imperialles 13:32, November 11, 2009 (UTC)
