Shouldn't this article be renamed 'Final Jedi Duel' or 'Jedi Final Duel'? If licenced toys are canon source, the 1997 Kenner toy on this scene goes by that name. And beside, makes a lot of sense; in G-Canon, this is actually the final jedi duel.

Merge

Shouldn't we merge this with Battle of Endor?Unit 8311 08:03, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Yes, we should. --ATATatarismall.png 08:04, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Nope. Not a part of the battle. Seperate. Happened to be going on at the same time. There will be no merge. I am Four Dot...nah, J/K. Merge away. .... 09:15, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
      • No, they shouldn't. This duel, while taking place concurrently with the Battle of Endor]], was not part of the battle itself. It was a duel between Jedi and Sith that is important enough to warrant it's own article. I've done so, and expanded the article as well. - JMAS 04:00, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
  • We should definitely not merge.

Gallery in the article

For now, I'm going to leave the gallery, unless others post here that they, like me, would like it removed. However, I am going to remove from the gallery the images that are already located IN the body of the article already. - JMAS 05:09, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Editing War

Why has an editing war suddenly erupted on this article these past few days? Rexas 15:44, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

  • A particular new user is adjusting image thumbnail sizes unnecessarily and adding fanon information to the article. Therefore, it's not technically an edit war, it's reversion of vandalism. The user has been warned on their talk page. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 15:49, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

Action Figures...

The article goes like this:

  • The lightsaber duel is pictured in several collective cards, as well as in the Return of the Jedi novel, the 1997 Special Edition and 2000 Special Edition Re-release of the movie and is generaly a highly anticipated event of the Star Wars saga.

After this, do you think I should add the following?

  • In addition, there are action figures by Hasbro called Luke Skywalker: Throne Room Duel and Darth Vader: Throne Room Duel and they both have abilities just like in the movie (Vader's action figure has Saber Throw action and a removable helmet, while Luke has lightsaber battling action).

In case you don't trust me, these action figures do exist and they are available in Amazon.com and Ebay.com. So what do you think? MisterObi1 06:10, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

  • I don't think the card info is necessary, so I removed it. But what do other users think? Chack Jadson (Talk) 13:09, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Unnecessery?

I don't think there is unnecessery info for this article. I think we should add everything. The card info and the action figure info. I really want this article expanded...As long as it's correct, we should include it, so the article becomes impressively large. As for accuracy, our info is accurate. It is just a bonus-fact. I like bonus facts, I bet you like them and everybody does. So I am adding everything for now, and if we are about to discard it, we shall discuss it here. Hey ChackJadson, check my new user page! MisterObi1 16:39, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Action figure info shouldn't be added. Drewton 16:44, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

More things to say

1).Well, OK. I agree. Action figure info will not be included. Now, what about the following?

  • The lightsaber duel is pictured in several collective cards, as well as in the cover of the Return of the Jedi novel, the 1997 Special Edition and 2000 Special Edition Return of the Jedi Re-release poster of the movie and is generally a highly anticipated event of the Star Wars saga.

I think it is definitely needed to say that this is a highly anticipated event of the saga. This is included in other duel articles. Plus, I think we should say why this duel is highly anticipated event of the saga.

2).Did you notice that this is the only duel of the saga where none of the combatants want each other dead? We could include it in the article. The Duel on Mustafar article does say that this is the second duel where both combatants use blue lightsabers. And we can say that none of the combatants wants each other dead and that they just want to turn each other to their own side.

3). I think that when Vader says "If you will not fight, then you will meet your destiny". I think he means turn to the DS, not die like the article says.

4). This article is included at the "Pages needing citation" category. I am pretty sure that this article no longer needs citation. It could be promote to Good Status with a little more expanding.

Tell me what you think about all four things I said. Sorry for the long post. Thanks. MisterObi1 15:06, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

2. Luke wants him dead by the end of the duel, and there are duels outside of the movies where the combatants do not want each other dead. 3. That's unlikely, because he says it after Luke says he wouldn't do something of the dark side and that he still wanted to redeem him. Drewton 18:57, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Me again

Please keep the article the way it is right now! You can make it my birthday present. I guess I did a good job though. I could say I deserve a Wookie-Cookie for my work on this article... But forget it! At least keep it! It's sooo good that way! Thanx a lot! MisterObi1 18:42, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

  • In terms of expanding, the article is as good as it can be. Collectible information is pointless to add because mostly everything has been made as a collectible. Drewton 23:35, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
  • But what about the backflip thing? This is important. It is included in the Mustafar Duel article. I don't see why not include it here. I should take it out just because you don't like it? Well, I like it.
    • I think that's just speculation in that article. There's no source. Drewton 13:31, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
      • If there is no source, then I want it out of Wookieepedia, because what I said is included in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi article and Duel on Mustafar article. And I think that the fact that you can't use the Wikia as a source for other articles of this wikia is nonsense, foolish and pointless.
        • It would be fine, then, if Yoda's article said that he was born on Earth, to put that in other articles? Wookieepedia itself is not a source, it uses sources. Drewton 16:57, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

RotJ novel

The RotJ novel describes fighting that is never seen on the film and it does not contradict the film; it is GL canonical. I think we should put more details from the novel, as long as it's GL cannoned. We should say that they battled for a while in the dais before the throne, "circling and trading numerous blows with no injury, until Luke unleashed a flurry of lunges and managed to get Vader on the stairs and finaly kicked him down. Please deactivate the shield and edit it this way. Thank you very much. Unsigned comment by 77.69.6.37 (talk • contribs)
