Merge?
Earlier I redirected this to Battle of Sundari but was reverted. I strongly believe this needs merged as it is part of the larger battle. Could I get another user to weigh in on this? Corellian PremierThe Force will be with you always 04:11, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
- I agree with merging them, but we should keep the merge discussion in that article. No need to take this wiki wide. :P JangFett (Talk) 04:30, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
- The duel was no more a part of the battle than Anakin's duel with Ventress on Yavin 4 was a part of its concurrent battle. In both cases, the initiators used the surrounding battle as an opportunity to strike at their opponents. Milar Kayne (talk) 05:34, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
- Actually, I don't think that's an applicable example of all. Their duel cease being part of the Battle of Muunilinst when they left the planet. For Mandalore, it had the same location, same players, and was part of one meta plot/plan/etc. Corellian Premier

- Not true. In each case the duels could have been fought elsewhere: Ventress could have attacked Anakin on Muunilinst and Sidious could have lured Maul and Opress off-planet. Furthermore, neither duel was crucial to its concurrent battle's outcome. In addition, if the duel at Sundari had truly involved "the same location, same players," then it would not have been Maul and Opress fighting Sidious. It would have been the Sith facing off against Obi-Wan again. Try thinking about your arguments a little bit more. Milar Kayne (talk) 15:15, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
- I agree that they should be merged. Most of the information contained in Duel at Sundari is already in Battle of Sundari for one. And the duel was part of the overrall battle, and the battle would have had a different outcome if the duel had not taken place. While Sidious, Maul, and Savage did not fight Kenobi and Death Watch directly, had this duel not occurred Maul and Savage would have been involved in the battle, seeing as how they were the leaders of one whole faction of the battle, the Shadow Collective, or rather the Mandalorian super commandos. In essence, this duel was a part of the battle because it prevented Maul and Savage from fighting Death Watch themselves, and should be merged with Battle of Sundari. - I think it's a bit of a stretch to assume that Maul and Opress would have participated in the other battle. When the duel started, the battle was already occurring, and at that time, Maul was sitting in his throne room meditating, not fighting. I think saying he would have eventually joined the battle is pure speculation. Another note, I'm not advocating that the duel be covered twice. If it is decided that it will be covered in Duel at Sundari, it should be removed from Battle of Sundari, except for perhaps a brief mention. Tomari7 (talk) 16:15, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
- Not true, Trip391. If Maul and Opress were going to be involved, they would already have been actively involved in recapturing Kenobi by the time Sidious arrived. Additionally, you claim that the battle would have had a different outcome had the duel not happened. But note that the battle is not specifically named as having ended with Kenobi's escape. Given the current description in the article, the focus of the battle was the freeing of Kenobi, so your argument needs fixing. Milar Kayne (talk) 16:44, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
- Tomari, I guess I was kinda speculating, but we may never know what they would have done, but we do know that the duel prevented them from joining the battle as a whole. Milar, I never said the outcome would be different, just the battle. And I never mentioned Kenobi's escape, either, so I don't know what you are trying to say there. Your constantly telling people that "your argument needs fixing" or "Try thinking about your arguments a little bit more" and the such could sound like personal attacks, and should stop. No one is attacking you, everyone is simply trying to make Wookieepedia the best it can be. Trip391 (talk) 17:00, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
- Actually, you did say that the battle would have had a different outcome. And I was simply pointing out that you are making claims that don't fit the known facts. Perhaps if people would be more careful about the logical consequences of their claims, I wouldn't need to point it out. Milar Kayne (talk) 18:55, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
