At least two different lightsabers

The pic of Vader's lightsaber shown in the Databank entry clearly depicts a very different lightsaber than the one shown in Ultimate Star Wars. --LelalMekha (talk) 13:21, January 15, 2016 (UTC)

Aye, there are three versions of the hilt, as with the other Original Trilogy hilts. The one in the Databank entry is based on an MPP flash gun, and while I can't see it, I'm guessing the one in Ultimate Star Wars is the one called the DV6, also based on a flash gun, though I don't remember the type (is it the one with the sliver top, and the curved lip, rather than the slanted one?). The third version is one made for Revenge of the Sith that doesn't appear on screen and was, as far as I know, custom built. DaftPirate (talk) 04:31, September 18, 2016 (UTC)

Speaking of different lightsabers

Can I ask what the reasoning is behind using the RotS lightsaber for the Canon image? I mean, it's canon, but it doesn't get shown on screen, and is probably the least known or recognizable Vader hilt out there. DaftPirate (talk) 04:35, September 18, 2016 (UTC)

The existence of several lightsabers is finally confirmed

With the release of Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia, what we've all known for years has finally been confirmed: Vader did not own one, but several lightsabers. On page 177, we have a picture of "Darth Vader's first lightsaber," and another captioned "one of Darth Vader's lightsabers." Given their distinct looks, we can safely assume the sabers appearing in ROTS, ANH, ESB and ROTJ respectively were all different weapons.
