Armor

"They wear a light and heavy padded crimson and black armour..." Should this be "light and heavily padded armour"? Because surely something can't be "light and heavy". I'm not familiar with the Coruscant Guards so I'm not sure. --Beeurd 22:56, 14 May 2005 (UTC)

  • To avoid confusion, it should probably be "light yet heavily-padded armour"--SparqMan 23:24, 14 May 2005 (UTC)
    • I implemented your suggested rewording. – Aidje talk 21:21, 26 May 2005 (UTC)

name

I have included "Imperial Guard" as a byname for the Coruscant Guards, as claimed by the Pen&Paper RPG and several action figures. I think it was common to call them "Coruscant Guards" on Coruscant, but "Imperial Guard" on every other core world where they served. Or maybe "Coruscant Guard" even was just a nickname given to them by the populace of Coruscant? -- Tulon 21:55, 4 April 2005

A Link With Shocktroopers?

Is there any connection between Commander Fox's Coruscant Guard and Commander Thire's shocktoopers?--Shadowxander 00:54, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

  • They're one and the same, basically. The canon seems to have a glitch here, as the official databank mentions the Shocktroopers from RotS evolving into the Coruscant Guard, yet we see the Coruscant Guard being around much earlier in the Clone Wars series. This could possibly be explained by the "early" Coruscant Guard being a detached military force on temporary anti-terror duty, whereas the later Guard becomes an officially sanctioned police force.--Lynata 00:30, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Spliting...?

  • Should this paragraph be split into the stormtrooper coruscant guard and the clone coruscant guard?--ARC commander4 21:38, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Merging with the clone shock troopers?

  • Shouldn't we merge the Coruscant Guards with the clone shock troopers since they are the same clone troopers. We should also split the imperial coruscant guard from the clone coruscant guard.--ARC commander4 09:30, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
    • The same type, maybe, but this is about an organisation of them, similar to, say, the 501st. SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 09:33, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
      • They share a single history, therefore I would vote yes for a merger. But even if this wouldn't happen, the Shocktroopers need to be woven into the article somehow - including a picture of their armour to bridge the gap between the Phase I armour and the all-crimson Guard armour. People will simply expect to find this here.--Lynata 00:30, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

names

is commander thire an arc commander because it doesn't show it on his file.-ARC Trooper Cody

  • You mean his article? If you look under promotion it states it there. Yes he is an ARC commander. Coruscantfan 23:22, November 29, 2010 (UTC)

Helmets

Didn't their helmets give them 360 degree vision? I saw some notice about it in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith: The Visual Dictionary. Jacce | Talk | Contributions 19:33, July 15, 2011 (UTC)

Existence prior to 22BBY

The Coruscant Guard is mentioned in the game Star Wars: Obi-Wan so the Coruscant Guard must have been in existence in some capacity prior to the Clone Wars. Jartka'irn (talk) 01:02, September 9, 2012 (UTC)

  • According to The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia before the Clone Wars "Coruscant Guard" was a name used loosely for Coruscant police. During the Clone Wars it was then adopted for the clone shock troopers. This issue is addressed in the CSF article. Coruscantfan (Talk) 03:48, September 9, 2012 (UTC)
    • Sorry, I went back and re-read the CSWE entry an it actually does say Senate Guard so I've added the information to the Senate Guard page. But factually it still stands that it was not the Coruscant Guard i.e. the clone shock troopers. Coruscantfan (Talk) 04:02, September 9, 2012 (UTC)

Shadows of the Empire

Just wanted to note that in the SotE media the red uniformed guards are generally shown to be Xizor's bodyguards. Specifically in the comic, while the heroes infiltrate his palace they fight mostly the red uniformed guards. Also those appearing in the Topps card, actually appear next to Xizor in his skyhook. So I am not sure they are actually Imperial Coruscant Guards. In short, I think the article is missing something. Tiki Mo'ai (talk) 21:41, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
