Republic stealth ship

Unless I have mistaken something, Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon 96 says that the Carrion Spike was originally the Republic stealth ship that was used at Christophsis.

From the issue: 'the prototype used in the Clone Wars, remained the only one of its kind, and was not seen again after the Battle of Christophsis. Two years after the end of the war, however, the naval curio was comprehensively refitted and gifted to former Republic Admiral Wilhuff Tarkin - now an Imperial Moff. He gave the ship its first ever name, Carrion Spike. Remodelled to measure almost 150 metres in length, the principle difference between the ships was that the Carrion Spike was heavily armed.'

Been a while since I've been through the Tarkin novel, does anyone know what it specifically says about the Republic stealth ship? Lewisr (talk) 04:09, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

  • Also, the issue mentions that after the events of the Tarkin novel, 'The incident was a cause of great ignominy for Tarkin, and saw the stealth ship fade once more into the background' This bit about it fading into the background again also would make the case for them being the same thing Lewisr (talk) 04:14, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
    • Tarkin says that the Spike was "based on a prototype stealth corvette that had been introduced during the Clone Wars..." With this BMF information, it seems like "based on" should be taken literally. Otherwise nothing seems to contradict as far as I can tell. RattsT (talk) 20:11, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
      • Great, thanks Ratts! Literally indeed haha, some of the info is a little out of date because of new releases since that BMF issue was released (the bit about the ship fading into the background mostly because the Carrion Spike was still used by Tarkin several times between the novel and his death), but I think the rest of the stuff there doesn't contradict anything else established by other sources Lewisr (talk) 20:23, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
