Is it really necessary to specify that a carrier is dedicated to carring ships incapable of hyperspace travel? That isn't necessarily the case: the New Republic makes use of carriers pretty frequently, but few of their starfighters don't have hyperdrives. Carriers are also used simply to save fuel, so that starfighters are have full tanks when they are deployed for battle. Jenosidanian 20:47, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
