• I don't know about mercenary but the Prima Official Strategy guide states that she was 'Bera is a notorious smuggler who has run with some of the most heinous criminals in the galaxy'. I of course don't know the canonicity of strategy guide bios, but it might explain where it came from. And no, I'm not the one who put that bit into the article.
