Different name

I think we should rename this article to Skirmish on Vardos or Battle on Vardos due to the large scale battle that occurred. Yes Inferno Squad undertook a mission to Vardos, but technically most battles begin as "missions". We also have too many events conjecturally named as "missions" and I think it's better to changed it up. The main event was the First Order locking down Vardos and J-Sec rebelling against them to liberate Vardos and avenge Gleb, it just so happens that Inferno Squad coincidentally dropped in, with Hask taking advantage of their presence.--Vitus Infinitus (talk) 02:56, December 15, 2017 (UTC)

  • I agree. There was an entire battle going on. Battle of Vardos is more appropriate, it can describe both the Resistance mission and the fight between Jinata and the First Order.--Jogarz (talk) 05:54, December 16, 2017 (UTC)
    • I think Battle on Vardos is a more appropriate name, instead of skirmish, and yes I completely agree--Vitus Infinitus (talk) 20:43, December 18, 2017 (UTC)
      • I don't think Battle would be a better name, is more a skirmish between both forces. But not sure--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 20:45, December 18, 2017 (UTC)
        • I thought of battle because of the large scale. Dogfights in atmosphere between J-Sec and FO, fights all over the city, and All Terrain MegaCaliber Sixes laying waste to the city. But I'd be fine with it being a skirmish, just not a mission.--Vitus Infinitus (talk) 20:47, December 18, 2017 (UTC)
          • For Iden and company is just a mission, but for J-Sec and FO is a skirmish, don't know if there's a rule of which one gets preference--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 20:48, December 18, 2017 (UTC)
            • I think Battle of Vardos (or Skirmish on Vardos, though I think it's too big to just be called a skirmish) is better than mission. After all, the Resistance is involved in the fighting even if they just originally went there on a mission. We refer to the fight on Takodana as "Battle of Takodana" even though it was just a mission at first. Many battles have more humble origins.--Jogarz (talk) 20:35, December 19, 2017 (UTC)
              • Difference if you're refering this one Battle of Takodana, is that this name is mentioned in a source and this one is just a conjecture name--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 21:24, December 19, 2017 (UTC)
                • The point still stands. There's no reason for a large-scale fight like this to be labeled as a "mission".--Jogarz (talk) 00:33, December 27, 2017 (UTC)
  • Where do we stand on this?--Vitus InfinitusTalk 15:29, January 20, 2018 (UTC)
    • Given the definition of a skirmish ("an episode of irregular or unpremeditated fighting, especially between small or outlying parts of armies or fleets"), IMO "Skirmish on Vardos" seems to be the most appropriate name. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:02, January 20, 2018 (UTC)
      • If there are no objections, I will move the page soon.--Vitus InfinitusTalk 22:00, June 23, 2018 (UTC)
        • Per our Discord convo, I changed it to Battle of Kestro. The battle is contained to the city, and isn't a wide battle for planetary control, so keeping the name localized is the most appropriate. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 22:08, June 23, 2018 (UTC)

Part of the First Order-Resistance war

Since this mission occurred at the same time the Hosnian Cataclysm happened and that was considered the beginning of the First Order-Resistance War, can we consider this event part of the First Order-Resistance war?Jkirk8907 (talk) 11:37, January 14, 2019 (UTC)
