Death?

Should the article be changed to that it was presumed Bail Organa was killed in Canon continuity? I'm no expert on the subject, but there is no confirmation of his death during the destruction of Alderaan. It it most likely, but not known for sure. I just posted this because I'm not sure whether it needs to be changed to his PRESUMED death rather than his death or not. Unsigned comment by 210.84.8.223 (talk • contribs)

  • Hi there. Good question. It actually is known for sure. His Databank entry states: "Bail died when the Death Star destroyed his homeworld." I've updated the infobox to include a source to avoid any potential confusion in the future. Thanks for pointing this out! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 08:54, February 26, 2015 (UTC)

Born into the royal family

The article currently says Bail was "born" into the royal family, and references the Databank, but the Databank merely says he was a member of the royal family. He was a member of the royal family because he married the Queen. I will be bold and edit the article accordingly: if someone has contradictory evidence please post and revise. Sourcing for "the Father of the Rebellion"

What is the source for him being called "the Father of the Rebellion"? There's no such mention in the article body. Efe Önem (talk) 16:40, 28 July 2023 (UTC)

Possible Discrepancies regarding when Bail became Senator

The article is edited to state that Bail Organa became a Senator following the Battle of Naboo. This seems to be derived from information in the Topps Base Series 1 card for Bail Organa which states that Bail became close friends with former Chancellor Valorum.

At first glance this seems to be a contradiction with the just-released third issue of the Jedi Knights comic series, which shows that Bail is already a Junior Senator when he was saved by Qui-Gon and Kenobi sometime prior to the Battle of Naboo. However, I think there are a few things which make the topic not so clear cut.

For one, Bail is referred to as a Junior Senator in the intro text crawl of the comic while being called Senator throughout the comic. While the canon page for Junior Senator refers to that being the first year that a Senator serves, that definition is accorded to the New Republic Senate, as defined by the Bloodline novel. So could the name possibly have a different meaning in the Republic?

Also, since the Topps card does not reference the Battle of Naboo outright, could we then assume that "former Chancellor Valorum" is actually now meant to instead reference one of the in-between periods before Valorum was re-elected for one of his three subsequent terms after his first?

Just wanted to know what you all think. Kingsman28 (talk) 18:57, 15 May 2025 (UTC)

  • I assume it just means he's not the full senator of Alderaan like he is during AOTC etc since that's probably Bail Antilles, I don't think there's actually any issue, simply because of the fact he's called a junior senator Lewisr (talk) 04:45, 16 May 2025 (UTC)
