Anakin's Canon Age

So, it looks like Anakin's age in Attack of the Clones in this article has been cited as 19 based on the fact that he's known to have been born in 41 BBY. This is a change from Legends, in which he was always said to be 20 in Attack of the Clones. However, the 41 BBY birth year seems to me to be consistent with the Legends explanation of him being born at 41.9 BBY (still less than 42 years before ANH), leaving him almost 10 in TPM and barely 20 in AotC. The 20-year-old age in AotC was also supported by various promotional materials for the film at the time it came out. I would think this could still be the intention of the story group for the canon, unless we have a source explicitly stating that he's 19 in AotC (I haven't seen one, but maybe it exists?). RainbowDroideka (talk) 08:23, June 24, 2020 (UTC)

Ah, thanks for the detail! But that would appear to leave only 21 years between AotC and ANH, instead of the usual 22 years? I guess maybe he either turns 20 during AotC, or turns 42 during Rogue One/ANH? RainbowDroideka (talk) 23:44, July 4, 2020 (UTC)
The newly-published The Star Wars Book states that Anakin is 10 years old when Qui-Gon finds him on Tattoine. Is this a mistake?Kingsman28 (talk) 22:12, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
Hmm, okay it does seem to be a mistake as later on the book states that Anakin is 9 years old when Qui-Gon meets him. Guess it's a disagreement between Holocron files.Kingsman28 (talk) 22:50, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
Ok listen. The source for anything canon can be found on StarWars.com's official database. Ages of Anakin Skywalker are presented in plot loglines and that is the most credible source, period. Anakin Skywalker is 9-years-old in Episode I and 20-years-old in Episode II. Now I know it states 10 years later, but many have said that Anakin turns 10 right after Episode I ends, so give or take a few days, it matches that he would be 20 in Episode II. Now that means 3 years later, Anakin Skywalker is 23-years-old in Episode III and when he turns to the dark side. Everybody mistakes his age and it is so frustrating. ALSO, George Lucas is all about parallels - you don't think he wanted to match up Anakin's age with Luke's age when they are both tempted by the dark side (Luke is 23-years-old in Episode VI)? Somebody needs to change the incorrect 19-year-old age to the correct 20-year-old age in Anakin Skywalker's Biography. It's just spreading false information about something that is clearly canonized in Disney's Star Wars.

Blond hair color

I've made this reversion several times now, so I want to explain in further detail than an edit summary can contain. Anakin's hair color in canon is never called "brown," but some editors have speculated that it is that color in their opinion and added it to the infobox. In canon, Anakin and Luke's childhood hair color is stated to be "blond", and as an adult it is called "light" and "dark" in shade without naming the color. Legends, it was "blond" as a child and "sandy-blond" as a young adult. Please do not change the color to something else without providing a citation for that change. :) Immi Thrax RainbowRebellion2 (talk) 14:23, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

Birth planet

Why is Anakin listed as being born on Tatooine even though it's stated in Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace that he and his mother moved there when he was very young? 90.213.118.8 14:05, 26 July 2021 (UTC)

  • Homeworld could mean the world one was born on, but it could also mean the world one was raised on. OOM 224 ༼༽talk༼༽ 14:09, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
    • I believe it's listed on the article as where he's born (in addition to homeworld) because The Star Wars Book states "Born on the desert planet Tatooine, Anakin Skywalker spends his early days as an enslaved person alongside his mother, Shmi." I personally feel like that's an erroneous statement conflicting with the film, and that book has some other errors in it. (In Legends, it was more explicitly confirmed that he wasn't born there through depicting his arrival on the planet, but Legends books don't apply to canon). What do other people think? Death Star

In Star Wars Episode 3, in the end scene, we see Vader, Tarkin, and the Emperor watching the Death Star. I have read the Darth Vader 2017 comic and it doesn't show that scene anywhere, so when did that scene take place. Erdan5 ( talk) 02:35, September 25, 2021 (UTC)

If so, someone smarter than me needs to do it.

Anakin's force ghost

Do y’all think they should change Anakin's force ghost back to Sebastian Shaw and leave Hayden Christensen's eyes and part of his long hair cuz that would make Anakin look in his 40s. He’s supposed to be the same age he was when he died. Unsigned comment by 23.28.164.239 (talk • contribs)

Duel with Dooku on Tythe.

A few questions: 1) Why is this article considering Dooku's phrase from the game as canonical, but the article about the planet Tythe is not? Shouldn't the site follow the same rules? 2) Even if we admit that the phrase is canonical, why is it certain that it was said BEFORE the Battle of Coruscant? (or during it?). This phrase could have been uttered in the middle of the Clone Wars, given that Dooku and Anakin fought more than once during it. Unsigned comment by AlexAstahov2222 (talk • contribs)

  • I'm not sure what you mean exactly, both pages include the info but don't consider the exact quote from Dooku to be canon. And it obviously has to be before Coruscant for obvious reasons. Since there's no definitive answer to when they fought, there's really no ideal place to put it Lewisr (talk) 19:39, 2 July 2023 (UTC)

Timelines

I haven't found any articles referencing Star Wars: Timelines when mentioning his birth year as 41 BBY. Can anyone who owns the book confirm if it mentions his birth? Civil Warrior (talk) 03:01, 24 July 2023 (UTC)

  • It's mentioned on page 47 in the bottom right of the page in a box with Ahsoka and Kanan's birth years '41 BBY: Anakin Skywalker—born mysteriously to Shmi Skywalker, without a father' Lewisr (talk) 03:07, 24 July 2023 (UTC)

The Indian in the Cupboard

Should the movie The Indian in the Cupboard (1995) be given a Wookieepedia article? It contains an authorized appearance of the character Darth Vader, on the level of The Muppet Show and Sesame Street appearances of Luke, C3PO, et al.Matthew Babe Stevenson (talk) 12:09, 14 May 2024 (UTC)

is this a typo?

The section Anakin Skywalker#Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka says (with bold and italics i'm adding for clarity),

  • Harold said the key to the duel on Mapuzo and Vader is feeling and articulating the range and anger under it all.

Is it supposed to say this (without my bold and italics)?

  • Harold said the key to the duel on Mapuzo is Vader feeling and articulating the rage and anger under it all.

or

  • the range of anger under it all.

Having some problems with copy-paste and preview--i hope this comes out right.

image organization

now that the wiki's doing multiple infobox images per character (GREAT quality of life change BTW, good job), shouldn't anakins photos be in chronological order, meaning vader's is the first photo, like all the rest of the pages? currently the image layout goes episode 3 anakin, episode 6 anakin, episode 1 anakin, which doesnt really make sense. BearInsanity (talk) 03:26, 23 December 2024 (UTC)

This is primarily due to his last appearance (as a ghost) being his Ep 3 self. That's also why his infobox image was one of him as a Jedi Knight even before the change, when we still used to list only the latest chronologically. But, ghost images aren't as good quality, so I'm presuming the current Ep 3 image was chosen because it most closely represents the physical features he had as a ghost (that ghost being, his latest chronological and representative of his return to the light, and thus turning away from the Vader persona). But, given its such a major character, any change to said image would definitely need to be run through vote if it were ever to be done.spookywillowwtalk 15:32, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
