Homage
This is a very cool homage to one of my favourite vehicles. The Star Wars description (The Unknown Regions, page 50) is even a close rewording of the original Popular Science article about the real Landmaster. (Examples below) —MJBurrage(T•C) 19:37, August 7, 2011 (UTC)
| Real life | Star Wars | |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Landmaster (often confused with the ARK II) | ARK II Series Landmaster |
| Builder | Jeffries Automotive Styling | Jaffryes Universal Automotive |
| Suspension | Features four sets of tri-star wheels which actually enable it to crawl over boulders it could not drive over. | "Using four sets of tri-wheels, the Landmaster can handle any terrain just as ably as a tracked vehicle," |
| Amphibious | "Can operate in water and will remain sealed when fully submerged. Can float while half full of water" | "also operates while completely submerged, retaining buoyancy even when the interior is half filled with water." |
| Drive | "Three independent drive sources" | "redundant engine array" |
| Repairs | Designed to use as many standard truck parts as possible, so that any junkyard would have whatever was needed for repairs. | "Another factor in the Landmaster's favor is the ease of using third-party replacement parts when extensive repairs are necessary." |
- Regardless of your opinion, we can't include speculation in the BTS section. We have no canon proof that the ARK-II is based on the real world Landmaster, so it CAN'T be stated. Sorry. <- Omicron(Leave a message at the BEEP!) 19:41, August 7, 2011 (UTC)
