Great Hunt date
The New Essential Chronology states the Great Hunt took place "for three years following the Sith War", which suggests 3996 BBY to the book's placement of the "final days of the Great Hunt" in 3993 BBY. Can anyone check why it's been placed in 3995 BBY? The Great Hunt page itself cites the KOTOR Campaign Guide, but I've seen nothing in that suggesting a 3995 BBY placement, particularly on its Timeline pages. - TLM86 00:30, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
- That's because the Great Hunt took place during the Restoration Period, which began in 3995 BBY (KOTOR Campaign Guide, p. 130). Also, if the Great Hunt lasted three years, that could mean that it took place in 3995, 3994 and 3993 BBY. —DKS MaXoO (talk) 17:03, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
- IIRC it only says the Hunt is during that period, not that it began in it. And generally we tend to take full years at face value, rather than guessing where in a year something begins or ends. If it says three years, ending in 3993, that's from 3996. - TLM86 21:54, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
- It seems that Cleansing of the Nine Houses (CotNH) is the key to how that timing appeared. According to its page, Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide puts Great Hunt after CotNH, not concurrently, and gives the end of CotNH at 3995 BBY. However, this appears to be a wide reading of the fact that on p. 130, the two events are given together in that order. Demetrius Viridianus (talk) 15:23, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
