Symon tube

A symon tube was a component that could be found in a blaster rifle and which was required to be filed for the weapon in which it was fitted to function effectively. During the Clone Wars, the symon tube was mentioned in the short story The Best Defense[1] by the Thaereian military deserter Osten Dal'Nay,[2] which depicted the death of the Nikto Thaereian military officer Commander Kulkis at the hands of the enlisted soldier Nightwing. In the story, Nightwing attempted to remediate a jam in his Thaereian military standard issue MX9 blaster rifle and Kulkis queried whether Nightwing had filed the weapon's symon tube.[1]
