The Swoop was a Quasar Fire-class cruiser-carrier that served the Galactic Empire during government's reign. Lieutenant Canonhaus served aboard the carrier as liaison to the stormtroopers, who called him Footoo. The troopers liked the lieutenant but did not trust him. One day, the Swoop responded to an insurrection in the highland jungles of Haruun Kal.[1]
The Swoop's stormtroopers were deployed onto Haruun Kal with Canonhaus, backed by speeders and juggernauts, against the Korun natives. Orbital fire was also used to burn back the jungle. Despite the speeders and Sentinel-class landing crafts being grounded by fungus, the Imperial forces were victorious regardless. Canonhaus later reflected on his time on the Swoop and Haruun Kal while serving as a captain aboard the[1] Imperial II-class Star Destroyer[2] Ultimatum[1] in 3 ABY.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Swoop was mentioned in the short story "The Final Order," written by Seth Dickinson as part of the 2020 short story collection From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back.[1]
