Sun beetles were large insects that were the size of banthas that lived on the world of Kubindi and raised by the native Kubaz. They were considered beasts of burden in the past until such duties were taken over by droids and other forms of machines.[1]
Wild sun beetles would duel each other by locking pincers and pulling against each other until one combatant was able rip the other's pincer from the socket. Among some criminal circles, there existed staged sun beetle fights, but these were considered illegal.[1] Sun beetles were generally slow, passive, and considered to be feeble.[2]
