Subloop spanners were a type of spanner.[1] Between 34 ABY and 35 ABY,[2] the Jedi Rey used a subloop spanner while trying to loosen connecting bolts on the V-26 planet hopper Way Back in the Resistance base on[1] the moon[3] Ajan Kloss. She then waved the spanner in the air to gesture to the bustling base when discussing how much there was to do with Resistance members Finn and General Leia Organaa. Rey later told the Kessurian Leesa Chaffni about using the spanner and Chaffni in turn included it when telling eatery patron Naldri Zuvio about encountering Rey.[1]

Behind the scenes

A subloop spanner appeared in a flashback in The Jaws of Jakku, a 2025 audio book written by Cavan Scott and narrated by Helen Sadler.[1]
