A steward was a position within the Imperial Senate, the legislative body of the Galactic Empire. Stewards were tasked by[1] the Vice Chair, be it the Grand Vizier or the Oathkeeper,[2] to count the quorum of the chamber before each session. Once quorum was declared, the session was formally opened.[1]
