Steven Knight was slated to write the script for a live-action Star Wars film directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Knight became screenwriter for the film after Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson, the two writers who had previously held the position, left the job.[2] However, on January 24, 2025, it was reported that Knight had left the project as well and was replaced by George Nolfi.[3]
