The Novaldex stasis-type shield generator was a device that worked in a crucial system that prevented passengers aboard a starship from aging at a drastically different rate than 'realspace time' when traveling through hyperspace. The Millennium Falcon used a stasis-type shield generator to suport its Torplex shield generator by feeding the port and starboard projectors.[1]
