Star Wars Aficionado is an unofficial, English language weblog operated by British fan Scott Weller. Although the weblog launched on Blogspot in July 2010,[1] and is now the format for Star Wars Aficionado after two decades of existence,[2] it originated in 2003 as a printed fanzine[1] titled Star Wars Afficionado.[3][4]

By 2008, the fanzine's spelling had changed and its publication had shifted from print to the PDF file format.[1] A corresponding website at the domain name starwarsaficionado.com was launched by October 23, 2007;[5] however, ownership of the domain name was lost sometime in or after 2013.[6]

In a 2009 issue, Weller and Ian Trussler interviewed prequel trilogy stunt coordinator Nick Gillard. The interview included images from Lucasfilm, including cut shots of Anakin Skywalker dueling Bene and Cin Drallig.[7]

On October 5, 2013, Star Wars Aficionado joined StarWars.com's Mark Newbold for the release celebration of Jonathan W. Rinzler's The Making of Return of the Jedi.[8] During the 2014 British Film Institute (BFI) exhibit On Set: Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, Weller met with curator Nathalie Morris to discuss how she prepared the exhibition of BFI's Ann Skinner Collection.[9]
