Star Wars: The Last of the Jedi is a series of ten young-reader novels written by Jude Watson following Ferus Olin in the period of time between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.

Beginning with Return of the Dark Side, the series was billed on the covers of the books as simply Last of the Jedi. The Legends release of the series bills it as Last of the Jedi for all titles.

Development

Early in development, the Last of the Jedi series was envisioned as the continuing adventures of Obi-Wan Kenobi, but Lucasfilm ultimately vetoed this concept, reasoning that Kenobi would never venture far from Luke Skywalker unless exceptional circumstances demanded it.[1]

Continuity

Almost a year has passed between the events of Episode III and the start of this series. The heavily armored bounty hunter D'harhan was first introduced in The Mandalorian Armor (1998), book one of The Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy by K.W. Jeter, set after the events of Return of the Jedi.[1]
