A playable Star Wars: Dark Forces Consumer Electronics Show demo for the video game Star Wars: Dark Forces was available at the Consumer Electronics Show[5] prior to the game's release on February 15, 1995[3] featuring a playable prototype of the game's first level. While aspects of the level were recycled into other parts of the game, it was cut[5] during development[1] due to concerns of it being too difficult for new players.[5] The level was replaced with another set on a secret base in the released game.[1] Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster, released in 2024, included the demo as part of its behind-the-scenes vault.[5]
