A splitter coupling was a component on the AG-2G quad laser cannons. Mounted at the end of the barrel, the weapon's laser tips were connected to the splitter coupling. The coupling slightly dispersed the energy beam, allowing it to land two hits simultaneously on a target's deflector shield. This increased the chances of overloading an enemy's shields, allowing for an increased chance of the strike causing more damage.[1]
