Spiner plants were rare flowering plants which could be found growing in moist, humid environments like those found in swamps. Generally regarded as beautiful, the plant harbored a potentially lethal toxin that dulled the victim's senses and impeded its natural bodily processes. A spiner plant delivered this toxin by shooting envenoming thorns at creatures that brushed against it. Despite its danger, this toxin was also valuable, as it could be processed into a serum that could treat a variety of diseases and other poisons.[1]
