- "He will reach the spikewind next. I will activate it at the appropriate moment."
"No. No more traps, no more obstacles. Turn them off. All of them." - ―Arex and Kirak Infil'a, discussing Darth Vader's approach
The spikewind was a trap used by Jedi Master Kirak Infil'a and his droid, Arex. When newly-christened Sith Lord Darth Vader hunted Infil'a on the river moon of Al'doleem, the Jedi and Arex set many traps for Vader, including the spikewind. However, when the Sith overcame the obstacles that preceded the spikewind, Infil'a decided to fight Vader in lightsaber combat, and he told Arex to disable the remaining traps.[1]
Behind the scenes
The spikewind was first mentioned in the canon comic book Darth Vader (2017) 3, which was written by Charles Soule and published in 2017.[1]
