Spikeshell

Spikeshells were common crustaceans native to the planet Ord Mantell. The species of spikeshell populating the coasts of Kessan's Landing were known to grow particularly large. Spikeshells were generally docile, but could defend themselves with large, sharp claws when threatened. The grip pressure of their claws could be strong enough to slice through durasteel.

Spikeshells were a popular food source across Ord Mantell and a notable staple in Ardak Point. Often as the main ingredient in noodle dishes, or even served with only skycorn and kebroot, although this was ideally only when heavily seasoned. Strangely, spikeshells would stand on the shore with their claws raised into the air during certain nights of Ord Mantell's lunar cycle.^[1]
