The speederboard was a repulsorcraft utilized by clone Advance Recon Force troopers during the Clone Wars. It was known for providing quick, easy transportation, without utilizing the user's hands, which allowed them to use a variety of weapons. This feature was incredibly useful on waterworlds such as Kamino.[1]
History
Rancor Battalion was known to use speederboards during the war.
In 21 BBY, the Confederacy of Independent Systems launched a full scale invasion of Kamino. As a swarm of aqua droids began to invade the capital of Tipoca City, the Rancor Battalion was deployed to fend of the Separatist invaders.[2] One of the troopers of this unit, an ARF trooper, utilized a speederboard with a DC-15A blaster rifle. His speederboard had maroon and brown markings, with a black and white Galactic Roundel in the center.[1]
Behind the scenes
The speederboard was created by Hasbro in 2011 for their Star Wars: The Clone Wars line of toys. Specifically, the ARF Trooper (Kamino) set. It came with both a speederboard, and an ARF trooper within Rancor Battalion, equipped with two DC-15A blaster rifles.[1]
