The Spearhead Formation was a type of defensive tactic used in space warfare. [2] In 2 BBY,[1] during the Battle of Atollon of the Galactic Civil War between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire, Alliance Commander Jun Sato ordered the use of the spearhead formation while he commanded Phoenix Cell's fleet in the fight against the Empire's Seventh Fleet. In response, Imperial Grand Admiral Thrawn identified that Sato was using Danaan tactics, and ordered Governor Pryce to reinforce his fleet's center and deploy their starfighters.[2]
Behind the scenes
The spearhead formation was introduced in the first part of "Zero Hour,"[2] the two-part finale of the animated television series Star Wars Rebels third season , which premiered on March 25, 2017.[3]
