Republic Spacelane Bureau

The Republic Spacelane Bureau was the branch of the Galactic Republic to process and map the galaxy and its hyperroutes. It gave Coruscant its central hyperspace coordinates, and fought to nationalise control of information regarding hyperlanes, and established a protected set of hyperspace beacons for major pathways and end the private sector control of charts. It was extant c.4,000 BBY, when it serviced the numerous beacons used in the Republic until the Great Sith War.
