The Southern Falls was a mountainous region of Toshara, a wind–swept moon in the Outer Rim Territories. The region was located south of the capital city Mirogana. A shallow river ran through the region and ultimately split into two, each flowing into separate falls. Numerous rock and amberine formations and caves dotted the region, including Gotà Cave, Kashudà Pit, Traveler's Crossing and Tree Nest.[1]
During 3 ABY,[2] a large portion of the region was controlled by the Galactic Empire. Within the region, the Empire built a forward base on top of an amberine formation to send a message of control to the local Tosharans. The Empire also operated several outposts in the area including outpost 31.[1]
