"It's a lot easier to run away at night. How do you make it look so easy?"
―Sola to Davith Elso[1]

Sola was a self-sufficient, orphan girl who used to live in an orphanage before she eventually joined a rebel convoy transporting civilians to a hidden rebel world in an effort to escape the Empire. On the convoy she met a rebel named Davith Elso who took her under his wing, eventually becoming her adopted guardian. The Empire ambushed the convoy, and the transport she was on managed to jump to hyperspace and escape the battle. Eventually, the hyperdrive gave out near the planet Tatooine, where the damaged ship crashed. Sola, along with the other survivors, set up a camp but were eventually attacked by the Stormtrooper Captain Terro and his forces.[1]

With the help of Jabba the Hutt's men, the rebels managed to force the Imperial forces to retreat, but in turn became Jabba's prisoners. Sola and the other survivors were brought to Jabba's Palace where they were imprisoned while Davith and the other rebels went on missions for Jabba. Eventually, the rebels fought back and attacked the palace, but Jabba anticipated this betrayal. He brought Sola and a few other survivors to his audience chamber and chained them by the necks. The rebels managed to make their way to the chamber and defeat the Hutt and his rancor, successfully freeing the survivors. Sola, Davith, and the rest of the rebels and survivors made their way back to civilization, and boarded a transport, leaving the planet behind.[1]

Biography

Growing up alone

"Things are better. But it's still worse than the orphanage was."
―Sola to Davith Elso[1]

Sola was a young orphan girl who never had a real family. She used to live in an orphanage and at one point had gone longer than two days without anything to eat. Being on her own, she learned to be self-sufficient, not needing to rely on anyone.[1]

Sola eventually joined a rebel convoy during the Galactic Civil War[1] at some point during or before 0 BBY[2] in an effort to escape the Empire. While on the transport that was heading to a hidden rebel world, she met a rebel named Davith Elso who took her under his wing.[1]

The Empire ambushed the convoy, and the transport she and Davith were on managed to jump to hyperspace and escape the battle. Eventually, the hyperdrive gave out near the planet Tatooine, where the damaged ship crashed. Sola and the other survivors set up camp at the crash site where they stayed until they were attacked by Stormtrooper Captain Terro and his forces. During the skirmish, Sola tried to time her escape, but never fully committed. Eventually Davith and the other rebels covered her as she ran for safety. With the help of some of Jabba the Hutt's men, the rebels managed to overwhelm the Imperials, causing them to flee with some of the survivors they captured. More of Jabba's men then arrived and escorted Sola and the other survivors aboard skiffs, bringing them to Jabba's Palace.[1]

Jabba's realm

"How do we get out of here? There must be a way to escape."

When they reached the palace, Sola and Davith were separated. Sola was sent to the prison while Davith and the other rebels were brought before Jabba. While in the dungeon, one of Jabba's slaves, a woman named Senza, tended to her and the other survivors. The rebels were eventually brought down to the prison, where they checked on the survivors. Sola rushed over to Davith and asked him how they are going to escape, to which he responded that they will escape when the time is right. Sola then gave Davith a hug before he left to go do a job of Jabba.[1]

After a successful mission, Davith and the rest of the squad returned to the prison to check on the survivors. Davith checked on Sola who was poking at a bowl of nutrient paste she had been given to eat. To her disgust, she held the bowl upside down without the paste falling out. Sola then asked Davith a flood of questions, to which he entertained while making sure Sola was doing alright. She told him that things had gotten better, but it was still worse the orphanage was. Davith then left with the rest of the rebel squad to go on more missions for Jabba while Sola was left in the prison with the other survivors.[1]

Freedom and family

"I've never had real family, but I'm glad I have you looking out for me. Would it be alright if I tag along with you for... for a while at least?"
―Sola to Davith Elso[1]

Eventually, Sola and three other survivors were brought into Jabba's audience chamber and chained by the necks. The rebel group then attacked the palace, something the Hutt anticipated. When the squad entered the chamber, Jabba stated that they are just in time to watch their friends die. Jabba then pressed a button on his dais which opened up a trap door and dropped two of the survivors into a pit which housed a rancor. Jabba then fled behind a door, using the other two survivors as shields. The rebel squad split up, some dropped into the pit to fight the rancor and the others pursued Jabba before he could get away. The rebels managed to defeat both the rancor and Jabba, freeing Sola and the rest of the survivors. They left the palace on a speeder bike and headed towards civilization. On their way there, Sola told Davith that she never had a real family, but she was happy to have him and asked if she could tag along with him. Having survived Jabba's treachery, Sola, her adopted guardian Davith, and the other survivors boarded a transport and left Tatooine.[1]

Personality and traits

Having grown up without a family, Sola learned to be self-sufficient at a young age. During stressful situations, she would put up a tough facade.[1]

Behind the scenes

Overview

Sola was first mentioned indirectly in the news post Return to Jabba's Realm on Fantasy Flight Games' official website on July 18, 2018.[3] Sola later was named and appeared in the Star Wars: Imperial Assault companion app Legends of the Alliance, in the "Jabba's Realm" campaign,[1] made available for download in 2018.[4] Sola has a chance of being one of the eight crash survivors present during the first mission, or guaranteed if the player chooses Davith Elso to be in the squad. This article assumes a specific path is taken in the campaign, which can very depending on the choices of the players. This article is written from the perspective of having Davith Elso as one of the members in the squad. The dialogue between Sola and the players differs slightly depending on whether Davith Elso is present in the squad or not.[1]

Alternate paths

Depending upon the actions and success of the player during the missions, Sola's fate can vary. Sola can end up being enslaved by Jabba the Hutt, eaten by a rancor, left behind at Terro's camp, or successfully have escaped Tatooine with the squad.[1]

Terro's camp

If the players are unsuccessful during the fight when Terro attacks the survivors' camp, then Sola can end up being one of the survivors taken away on the dropship. If this is the case, then the players do not see Sola again until later in the story. When the squad attacks the Imperial listening post, Sola has a chance to be the individual in the bacta tank. If this is the case, then after releasing her from the tank she will explain that Terro took the other survivors to an outpost where he has sheltered and fed them. If a different character is in the bacta tank, then she is at Terro's camp with the other survivors. If the players choose to make a deal with Terro, then he will bring the group to the outpost where they can find the other survivors, including Sola. If the players instead choose to kill Terro, then they never go to the outpost and Sola, along with the other survivors, are left behind there.[1]

Prisoner

If the players fail to complete the first mission Jabba sends them on, then when the characters check on the prisoners, Jabba has their food taken away as punishment for their failure. If Sola is one of the prisoners, then her food will be taken away as well. She also has a chance to tell Davith not to worry, and that she has gone longer than two days without food before.[1]

Rebel help

When the group obtains the code cylinders, they have the option to keep them for the Rebel Alliance and not give them to Jabba. If they choose to keep them for the Alliance, then the group gets picked up by a rebel agent and taken to an outpost. The rebel agents will then rescue the survivors from Jabba's palace, which includes Sola if she was not captured by Terro. The rebels then find an Imperial tracker on their ship, which prompts them to attack the Imperial listening post on Tatooine. The survivors are left at the outpost, and while the group goes to attack the listening post, Jabba's forces attack the outpost and recapture the survivors, including Sola.[1]

Enslavement

The finale of the story can end with either the players choosing to storm the palace or trade themselves for the freedom of the survivors. When they trade themselves, the survivors, including Sola, are freed from their imprisonment. If the player successfully defeat Jabba afterwards, then the rebels meet up with the survivors. When the rebels attack the palace, Sola has a chance of being one of the four survivors chained in the audience chamber. If Sola is one of the survivors in the chamber, then she has a chance of either being one of two of the survivors to be dropped into the rancor pit, or one of two of the survivors to be used as a shield by Jabba as he flees. If the players fail to defeat the rancor while Sola is in the pit, then she is eaten by the rancor. If the players fail to defeat Jabba while Sola is being used as a shield, then Jabba flees with her and the other survivor and they become enslaved. Sola also becomes enslaved, along with the rebels and the rest of the survivors, if the players fail to make it to the audience chamber during the attack on the palace.[1]
