Sochi was a vacation planet[2] located in the Sochi system within the Slice portion of the Inner Rim.[1] The Galactic Empire maintained the camp known as Troopers' Rest on Sochi, where Imperial stormtroopers who reached retirement age were eventually sent.[2]
Behind the scenes
Sochi was created by Anthony Fredrickson for "Soldiers of the Empire!," an article included in the fourth issue of Paradise Press's Star Wars Official Poster Monthly magazine,[2] published in January 1978.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Sochi system, and therefore the planet itself, in grid square M-9.[1]
