Snub-blasters were a type of easily concealable blaster pistol that had their serial numbers written on their grip. Around thirty years after the Battle of Endor, thugs in the employ of the junk dealer Unkar Plutt on the desert planet Jakku carried snub-blasters with all the serial numbers removed.[1]
Behind the scenes
Snub-blasters were created as props for the film Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, which was released in 2015. The weapons were not identified in the film, but received a name in the reference book Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo and released alongside Episode VII.
