The Smartmed 2000 Integrated Med-systems were first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Gadgets and Gear, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.[1] The Smartmed 2000 Integrated Med-systems were originally mentioned in the Star Wars Legends continuity in Dangerous Covenants, a 2014 supplement to the Star Wars: Edge of the Empire roleplaying series published by Fantasy Flight Games.[2]
