Slitherwolves were a type of wolf. They were known to be preyed on by rancors, who let the slitherwolves feast on their own prey before catching them when they were gorged and asleep. The slitherwolves were a subject of a code phrase used by Captain Magna Tolvan of the Rebel Alliance to identify their deep-cover operative Thassilio Smeuse.[1]
