Slips was a droid used by former Emperor's Hand Mara Jade during the Caamas Document Crisis.[1] In 19 ABY,[2] in a mission to the Wild Space planet Nirauan, Jedi Master Luke Skywalker brought Jade's starship, the Personal Luxury Yacht 3000 Jade's Fire, along with Slips, to the planet in an attempt to rescue Jade, who had traveled to Nirauan while searching for the Hand of Thrawn fortress.[1]
After finding Jade and arriving with her at the Hand of Thrawn, the former Emperor's Hand expressed that she hoped that Skywalker's R2-series astromech droid R2-D2's battery did not run out, prompting the droid's owner to confess that he had taken the Jade's Fire to Nirauan and that Slips had equipped R2 with extra power packs.[1]
Behind the scenes
Slips was first mentioned in the 1998 novel Vision of the Future, the final volume in Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Hand of Thrawn Duology.[1]
