"Furthermore, the noted journalist and biographer Kitrin Braves is currently undertaking a detailed and exhaustive biography of the Skywalker dynasty."
―Beaumont Kin, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire[1]

Skywalker: A Family at War[3] was an exhaustive biography of the Skywalker family written by the journalist Kitrin Braves. It was being written at the same time the historian Beaumont Kin was working on[1] his[4] book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire. When Kin published his book in 35 ABY, Braves' work was still yet to be published, but the historian thanked her for the research she had shared with him from her upcoming work.[1] Skywalker: A Family at War was ultimately published at some point afterward.[5]

Behind the scenes

Skywalker: A Family at War serves as the in-universe text for the 2021 reference book of the same name written by Kristin Baver.[5] The similarly in-universe 2024 reference book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire by Dr. Chris Kempshall later further described a biography of the Skywalker dynasty and and identified it's author as journalist Kitrin Braves.[1] A post on the StarWars.com blog on October 17, 2024, then later confirmed Kitrin Braves' book to be the in-universe version of Skywalker: A Family at War.[3]

  2. The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire was published in 35 ABY per the reasoning here and describes the in-universe Skywalker: A Family at War as a currently incomplete project. As the out-of-universe Skywalker: A Family at War confirms that the work was eventually completed, the biography must have been released at some point after The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.
