The Sky Corps was a clone trooper corps serving in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. At one point during the war, five of the Sky Corps' clone troopers flew in a clouded location.[1]
The Sky Corps served within one of the Grand Army's twenty Sector Armies, and was comprised of 36,864 clone troopers subdivided into four legions,[3] including at least five[1] clone sky troopers.[4] It was commanded by a Clone Marshal Commander and a Jedi General.[2] The Sky Corps' sky troopers wore standard Phase II clone trooper armor and wielded the DC-15S blaster carbine. They were equipped with a winged jet backpack that was emblazoned with two Galactic Roundels.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Sky Corps was first mentioned in "Guide to the Grand Army of the Republic," an eight-page reference article written by Karen Traviss and Ryan Kaufman for the 84th issue of Star Wars Insider,[1] published by IDG Entertainment on September 26, 2005.[5] The Sky Corps' depiction in the article was illustrated by Chris Trevas.[1]
