A skipper squid was a creature that the[1] Human[2] Royal Naboo Security Forces Lieutenant Gavyn Sykes was familiar with.[1] In 32 BBY,[3] during the Battle of Naboo, the militiagung soldiers of the Gungan Grand Army used large amounts of[1] boomas,[4] explosive weapons utilizing blue slimy plasma,[1] against the battle droids of the Trade Federation.[4] In a comment made to a superior in the battle's aftermath,[1] the Naboo-native[2] Sykes compared the plasma slime-covered site of the engagement to a giant skipper squid having exploded at that location.[1]
