The Sith armada was a fleet that fought against the smaller Ghostfinder fleet long before the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance. Despite its advantage in numbers, the Sith armada was outmatched by the latter fleet.[1]
Later during the battle between the naval forces of the Galactic Empire at Jakku and the larger Defense Fleet of the New Republic[1] in 5 ABY,[2] Republic Fleet Admiral Gial Ackbar remembered when smaller and lesser forces outmatched their opponents. He recounted the Ghostfinder fleet against the Sith armada, as well as the Mandalorians against the Galactic Republic.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Sith armada was mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the 2017 novel Aftermath: Empire's End, the final installment of Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy authored by Chuck Wendig.[1] Several Sith armadas also previously existed in the Star Wars Legends continuity.[3][4][5]
