"I've had a distress message from a merchant in Tyrena named Sinis. If you are interested in another job, head on over there."
Lieutenant Joth, to a spacer[1]

Sinis was a Human male merchant who on Corellia lived during the time of the Galactic Civil War.

Biography

"I was expecting my shipment of medical equipment from Coronet. When it didn't arrive on time, I became worried, and now I am told the ship crashed and all cargo was destroyed!"
―Sinis, to a spacer[1]

By the time following the Battle of Yavin, Sinis was a merchant who lived in Tyrena.[1] In 1 ABY,[2] a ship carrying medical equipment from Coronet City to Sinis in Tyrena apparently crashed near the city. Sinis thus recruited a spacer to investigate the ship crash site and retrieve as much equipment as possible. The spacer spotted and fought several Deflarian scavengers around the wreck. Sinis then requested his friend Yorick to analyze the flight recorder recovered from the Deflarians. The slicer finally discovered that the flight recorder was modified by the Deflarians. Sinis later tasked the spacer to attack the Deflarian Communications Post in order to find information about the insolvent of the Deflarians in the crash. This led the spacer to another Deflarian camp were the spacer defeated a Deflarian lieutenant and his enforcers, and finally retrieved Sinis's medical equipment, stolen by the Deflarians. Sinis was glad to recover his missing cargo. He later transmitted all the information gathered about the Deflarians to Inspector Cora of the CorSec.[3] This eventually led to the discovery that the Deflarians hijacked the ship to stole its cargo and then crashed a ship of the same model to cover the theft.[4]

The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
