Silicon-based organism

Silicon-based organisms were life forms whose biochemistry was based on silicon. Unlike carbon-based life forms, they did not need to breathe, and therefore were able to live in the vacuum of space. Such creatures included the exogorths, the mynocks,^[1] and the fyrnocks.^[2]
