- "My master taught me how to be swift. It did not save him, but I shall not forget his teachings."
- ―Diala Passil
Shu Yen was a Jedi Master of the Jedi Order and the mentor of[3] the Twi'lek Padawan[4] Diala Passil.[3] He[2] wielded a lightsaber[5] and taught Passil how to be agile.[2] Long before 0 ABY,[1] Shu Yen was killed by the Sith Lord Darth Vader on the moon Yavin 4.[6] His death left Passil with nightmares that grew more intense as time went on. At the location of Shu Yen's death, a dark and corrupt energy remained. The evil force called out to Passil, stretching across the galaxy and haunting her every waking moment.[3] When Passil returned to the place where her master died, she encountered an apparition of her master begging for her to come back before taking on the shape of Darth Vader.[6]
