Operating along similar principles to a blaster's stun setting, shock pulse emitters possessed a shorter effective range, which made them of little use alone. However, when integrated into weapons, shock pulse emitters became effective tools for debilitating opponents. When striking an opponent, shock pulse weapons were able to wear them down, causing exhaustion and confusion, therefore making it easier to land a finishing blow.[1] The Corellian Personal Defense Stun Pad was a model of shock pulse emitter.[2]

Behind the scenes

The shock pulse emitter was mentioned in No Disintegrations,[2] a 2017 supplement for the Star Wars: Edge of the Empire roleplaying game published by Fantasy Flight Games.[3]
